Water Resource Management Options – Orinoquía

Alisos, in alliance with the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMASS), the University of Los Llanos (Unillanos), Resolute and national and international consultants, is proposing to carry out a project to model water supply management systems in the Columbian Orinoco to address the recent challenges produced by climate variability that the region has faced in recent years. The model aims to generate alternatives and adaption strategies for a more efficient use of the water supply though climate-smart agriculture methodologies for the main productive systems, as well as for daily needs and other economic activities.

Currently, this model has been tested and developed in Mexico, Nepal and Kenya.

Alisos leads the activities in the country, including partnership building, data collection and accompanies the universities in the designing and development of the model.
