Sustainable Eastern Amazon: Building a New Path

The Colombian Eastern Amazon is a territory that has preserved its environment and culture, thanks to the fact that 84% of the territories are indigenous reserves and protected areas. Building a New Path is an initiative that seeks the harmonization of two views in benefit of the sustainability of the Eastern Amazon. Alisos has strengthened the capacities of indigenous authorities and local governments to reach agreements of maximum value. This initiative promotes the effective participation of indigenous peoples in the construction of proposals for territorial and environmental planning instruments in Guainía, Vaupés and Amazonas and their capitals; and in the Corporaciones Autónomas Regionales del Norte y Oriente Amazónico (CDA) and the Corporación para el Desarrollo Sostenible del Sur de la Amazonia (Corpoamazonia).
